Island Bounty
We are very lucky in Guernsey to have the best of everything. With our warm climate, influences from France, Britain and further afield, as well as our own great love of good food, the island offers great produce.
Guernsey folk have the harvesting of fresh produce running in their veins with a strong history of fishing and horticulture.
From the Earth we have an abundance of produce. As well as commercial growers more and more people are ‘growing their own’. Off the back of this, produce markets are becoming more and more popular, with regular markets held island wide. Hedge Veg is also a common sight on island roadsides and our hedgerows offer bountiful supplies of fruit in the late summer.
From the Sea we have an array of seafood waiting for you to try. Experience this in one of our many island restaurants, call into to the fishmongers or why not try to catch something yourself. Guernsey is great for angling with hire equipment, organised parties, as well as tuition, available.
From the Farm we have the world renowned, Guernsey Cow with its rich yellow milk. The Guernsey Dairy produces a range of products which are available island wide. Sark lamb and Guernsey beef and rose veal are also produced and are very much sought after.
From the Cellar Guernsey restaurants and retail outlets have an array of fine wines, brandy, ports etc at very reasonable prices. In recent years Les Rocquette Cider Company has been established with huge success.
Come and join us and experience the passion.
